Get ready to be blown away by the Global Startup Fest! Happening this March, the convention is a 1-day hybrid event organised by The Sandbox at Ngee Ann Polytechnic in conjunction with SWITCH (Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology).
The Global Startup Challenge is the main highlight of the convention, with top teams pitching their ideas to industry experts and the public across ASEAN, China and India. The event celebrates young trailblazers and budding global entrepreneurs in Singapore, while showcasing the fruits of the GIA (Global Innovation Alliance) initiative.
Whether you’re an established entrepreneur or an aspiring startup founder, you’re welcome to join the event and learn from the best in the startup scene, including Alibaba Cloud, Trive Venture, Hubspot and more.
Here’s a brief low-down of what’s going to happen at the event.
When will the event be held?
The event will be held on 25 March 2022, Friday, from 9.30am to 4.30pm. With so much in store for you, you can look forward to a day of learning from peers and mentors who have walked the path before you!
What is the programme format?
Given the current pandemic, the event will be held in a hybrid format for logistical and safe distancing purposes. Having a hybrid event also allows The Sandbox to strike a balance between the benefits of having the event physically versus virtually.
The main physical event will be held at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. At the same time, the virtual event will allow the public to attend the event easily, from the comforts of their home or office.
What is the programme outline?
The programme gets off to an exciting start with a welcome address by Enterprise Singapore, followed by an announcement of the GEIP (Global Entrepreneurial Internship) Collectives. These are partnership benefits that will be launched to support students and alumni in their entrepreneurial pursuits.
Next up is a series of fireside chats, talks and a master class which are sure to enrich and inspire. The first fireside chat features founders of homegrown international names such as Carousell, Angrybird and Technode as they discuss talent readiness for a global market.
Attendees can benefit from further enrichment after a short break. Tech entrepreneurs looking to build and grow their teams will be delighted to hear from ESG as they share how to build offshore tech teams for effective product development and market entry. This will be highly relevant for any business owners looking to scale into international markets.
Stripe is also holding a master class on building your core team. Learn how to hire, interview, and retain the best employees for your business. After all, people matter.
Right after lunch is the star event – the Global Startup Challenge, split into the student and alumni segments. Watch bright young minds pitch their business proposals to a distinguished panel comprising judges from Saison Capital, Trive Venture, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, Prudential and The Sandbox.
Lastly, stay tuned for the coffee chats where you can hear from AdXpert on how they expanded internationally, and understand the inner workings of venture capitalism from Saison Capital and Trive Venture.
